By turning on bright lights and a radio you can make your attic an unpleasant environment to encourage raccoons to leave on their own. The most common critter to enter attics in many areas including where i work in florida is the rat. One of the most common critters to find in your home throughout the winter months are bats. Or you can check for muddy footprints.

Some homes are straightforward. Raccoons are capable of ripping shingles off and chewing holes in buildings. Bats enjoy making their roost in places higher up such as attics. Look at photos of raccoon feces or squirrel feces or rat feces or mouse feces or bat feces.

Birds and bats require very specific and unique removal tactics. If you have raccoons you must be wary of the fact that there is a 90 chance of a litter of baby raccoons in the attic. Check on almost any surface not covered by insulation and there should be a layer of dust with animal tracks. The scariest part of having animals in your attic or walls is that the electrical wiring heating and cooling and plumbing systems typically run through these areas as well.

Many have unique architectural features. As the temperature continues to drop these animals tend to make their way into our homes or businesses for warmth and shelter.
